The Councilor for Celebrations of the Santoña City Council, Andrés Peña Valmaseda, has just announced that the Local Association Carnavaldelnorte will be in charge of kicking off the Santoña Carnival 2022, next Thursday, February 24.

This association was born in 2003 to compile the history of our Carnival through the documents, scripts and programs related to the festival, which they were able to recover, some of which have been published on their website, which has become a reference page on the Santoña Carnival.

In 2004, they were presented with the challenge of broadcasting the Murgas Contest through the Internet for the first time, a service that they have been improving to the present day, broadcasting this and other events related to the Carnival, through the web www. carnivaldelnorte.com

The Association was established, as such, in 2005 and is made up of six members who are Alberto Ancín, Eduardo Cabieces, David Pérez, Juan Antonio Subisaga, Javier Quintana and Javier Quintana Jr, with the collaboration of Puerto and José Luis Cabieces, as well as Eduardo Fernández in photographic work.

Since 2015, they have also formed a tandem with Iván Expósito and Radio Santoña, with which they carry out all the broadcasts jointly.
