Santoña Launches a New Action Under the Tourism Sustainability Plan with the Scenic Modernization of the "Trial Under the Sea"
The Santoña Town Council has launched a new tender as part of the Santoña Tourism Sustainability Plan (PSTD), focused on the creation and design of fish figures for the scenography of the iconic "Trial Under the Sea," the central event of the Santoña Carnival, which has been declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest.
Under the title "Sustainable Modernization of the Trial Under the Sea. Promotion of Cultural Heritage and Tourist Recognition of the Santoña Carnival," this initiative is part of Action No. 37 of Axis 4 of the PSTD, dedicated to enhancing the destination's competitiveness.
The project has a budget of €80,000 and is funded through the European Union's Next Generation funds, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
The initiative includes the creation of 37 fish and mollusk figures that will enrich the scenography of the traditional "Trial Under the Sea," thereby improving its artistic quality and its cultural and tourist impact, following sustainability and innovation criteria.
This new step reaffirms the Santoña Town Council's commitment to the sustainable development of the municipality, as well as to the preservation and promotion of its most representative traditions.
